They enchant with their beauty, are easy to cultivate and provide opportunity of diverse use according to personal likings. Water lilies are a very diversified group, however they all share one feature – lilies are wonderful decoration of ponds, waterholes and any other body of water. With their presence reservoir becomes vivid and more natural.

Orontium acquaticum is the plant from the araceae family, however with flowers not very characteristic for this family: white and yellow flower spadices are not surrounded, however they appear in a large number. Orontium is not the only aquatic plant belonging to the araceae family (it also includes water trumpets popular in aquarium, water-arum, and even floating pistia).
It is advisable to plant orontium in highly acidic soil with the content of silt or clay. This plant can be planted deep – to a depth of nearly 0.5m (it will evolve underwater leaves of leaves floating on the water surface) or significantly shallower – the plant should not freeze even if it spends winter in the ice
