Oxygenating plants can be usually found under the surface of water. Thanks to their amazing filtering qualities, they can make the environment much cleaner and healthier for other plants or fish. What is characteristic for them is that they get the nutrients not by their roots, but with the help of their leaves.
One of the oxygenating plants we stock is Ceratophyllum demersum. It is often called a hornwort or a coontail, due to its remarkable shape. It can be commonly seen in an aquarium, attached to some objects without roots. Its bright green colour makes such a reservoir look more natural.
